Arizona State University Admission- Eligibility & Documents Required for Admission

Arizona State University Admission- While each graduate program at ASU has its admission requirements, we will provide you with all the information in this post. The university is considere the basic unit for master’s, certificate, and doctoral programs. You must have a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in the United States, or a degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from an internationally accredited institution. If this is the case, you can easily get a job in any company.

In the last 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of undergraduate coursework, one must maintain a “B” (3.00 on a 4.00 scale) grade point average.

If one does not meet the minimum GPA standards, the application may still accepted by the department.

Proof of English proficiency is require for international students (for students whose native language is not English). International students must apply for a U.S. visa after being accepte, which includes providing a graduate financial guarantee.

Required Documents

• All documents must be originals or attested copies with the institution’s original seal and signature.
• The documents should not be photocopies, notarized copies, faxes, or scans.
• Documents that have notarized are not acceptable.
• When filling out your application, include all of your post-secondary degrees.
• If the issuing institution does not provide official transcripts in English, all documents must translated.
• Students do not need to send original language transcripts if a diploma supplement is provided.

Review competency requirements

To be admitte to ASU, you must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed at least 14 of the following courses.

• Four years of math.
• Four years of English (non-ESL/ELL courses).
• Three years of lab sciences (One year each from biology, chemistry, earth science, integrated sciences or physics).
• Two years of social sciences (including one year American history).
• Two years of the same second language.
• One year of fine arts or career and technical education.

Review other admission requirements

First-year applicants must meet at least one of the following:

• Top 25% in your high school graduating class.
• 3.00 GPA in competency courses (4.00 = A).
• ACT score of 22 for Arizona residents (24 nonresidents) or SAT Reasoning score of 1120 for Arizona residents (1180 nonresidents).*

*Additional information about ACT / SAT:

• ASU doesn’t require the writing portion of these tests.
• ACT or SAT scores are not required for admission but may be submitted for ASU course placement.

How To Apply for Arizona State University Admission

• Step 1: Fill out the graduate admissions application, which includes options for a degree, certificate, and non-degree status
• Step 2: Pay the nonrefundable application fee in the following manner:
• $70: US Permanent Resident, US Citizen, DACA, International Online Student Studying Outside of the U.S., In Process of Permanent Residency.
• International students studying in the United States on any sort of non-immigrant visa pay $115. (e.g. F-1, H1-B, H-4, etc).
• When you’ve finished your application for admission, you’ll be requested to pay the application fee. Visa and Mastercard are accepted at ASU. The administrative cost of processing your application is covered by the graduate application fee.
• Step 3: Have official transcripts (certified copies of official documentation from each secondary school, college, university, or technical school attended) forwarded to Graduate Admission Services. Courses completed, grades or marks received, and certificates or degrees conferred must all be documented. All documents that aren’t written in English should be accompanied by a certified English translation.
• Step 4: Send your TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE score to ASU or offer proof of completion from Global Launch as proof of English language proficiency.
• Step 5: Submit your official test results as well as any supporting documentation.
• Even though you submitted your application online, it may be considered incomplete until all further materials are received. Keep in mind that any document you provide to ASU becomes ASU’s property and will not be returned to you.
• Step 6: Gather visa and immigration paperwork.
